Love, positivity & Football
Once during an interview (not with me), Nick Sirianni said:
“We play hard for each other because of our pride, but there is one thing that can get them to go a little bit further: love and connection.”

He didn’t talk about hating the opposing team more. He didn’t talk about not wanting others to get the trophy.
He led with a positive perspective and left the negative one behind.
Love your team > hate the other team.
And if Nick Sirianni says it, it’s true. (Go Birds!)
I learned at my first journalism internship – shoutout mom – to always opt for positivity. “We’re not a magazine that tears people down. We lift people up.”
So I took that with me into every job I’ve had since. My marketing strategy isn’t going to be about telling people why your competition is worse than you. It’s going to be about what makes you the best or what makes you unique.
That accomplishes the same goal, except it does it better.
Because, yes, rage baiting is a sport on social media. And hating is an art supported by bots and crazy algorithms.
But when it comes to actual people who are going to become part of your community and lift you up, it’s better to have people who love you than have people who hate the other guy.
So take it from Nick, and lead with positivity.
