no one cares (and that’s a good thing)
Main character energy is just that. Energy.
It’s not a diagnosis.
It’s fun walking around like you’re the main character. I highly recommend it.
Put on a good outfit. Have a great hair day. Spend a whole day reading in the park. Make a badass playlist for a random walk. Journal in a coffee shop (sit by the window for extra points). Buy yourself flowers at the farmers market.
You’ll feel like you’re in a movie. You’ll feel like everyone’s watching you. You might find yourself wanting to flip your hair more. Or that might just be me.
But here’s the real truth. No one’s actually looking at you. They’re definitely not watching you. Especially not for a long time.
They might take a glance, have a quick thought, but then they are on with their life.
Because here’s the thing: even when you’re in your main character energy, you’re only the main character in your life.
And that’s a great thing.
Because that means you can essentially do whatever you want.
I’m not saying to be a bad person. Let’s not use this as an excuse to just be selfish. But the next time you think about a great video idea and are nervous to film yourself in public, remember that it’s not that deep.
The people around you are barely going to notice. They might even think, “wow, I wish I could bring myself to do that.” They might be inspired to film themselves the next day. They might see you, think ugh that’s annoying and then never think about it again.
None of those options affect you at all. The only thing you’re accomplishing by not going for it is holding yourself back.
So next time you hesitate to film or to post, just remember…you’re only the main character in your life.
